Archive for 'Parties'

This is Ryan and Danielle’s real engagement shoot, but we made it extra special.  Since they are awesome and I had a student flying in from out of state to tutor from me on this session, we wanted to make it rad. I called on the talented Bre to do her thing on this shoot…..and she did! We decided on an engagement party theme with touches of gold, ombre and modern flavor. We had such a fun day and cant wait to shoot their wedding next year!

I love seeing vendor challenges. I like seeing what people come up with when given a bit of direction and then role with what comes to their mind to create. Well…I thought it was about time for me to do one! I have my trusty little team of  Bre{Style} and Floral Design by Jacquline Ahne  so I thought we could totally do something fun. Brenda, from Best Weddings Blog does monthly table-scape vendor challenge for her Magazine and we were up for it. The only rules were there needed to be dessert, bridal shower theme and a color pallet of Mango, Lemon and Perry Winkle.  She also likes there to be no models and she wants the table affordable so anyone could do it. Almost all the decor was bought at a thrift store or garage sale and was photographed in my backyard–pretty affordable! We will also have a DIY ( Do It Yourself) instructions on how to do the hanging mason jars that will be included on Brenda’s blog feature as well, so keep your eye out for that :)

There is always this desire to do something that stands out amongst the rest and I truly think ours does. We were like minded on the use of color pallet right off the bat . Those colors are bright and bold, but we wanted them aged and subtle….but there. We wanted our shoot to have an old theme with charm and warmth, so we did it at night (which was a lot of work using a tripod for ALL the shots).  I just love what we got and I would just love to attend a bridal shower with this feel and atmosphere.

I was stoked to have so many talented vendors want on board of this shoot and some of them worked their tales off to pull this off. Every contribution added so much, THANK YOU!

Grab a hot cup of tea and enjoy….
